WHEREAS, on May 5, 2001, a combined city council and school board of trustees election was
held for the purpose of electing three councilmembers to the College Station City Council and
three members to the College Station Independent School District Board of Trustees.
WHEREAS, the returns tabulated at Central Counting on May 5, 2001 recorded a total of 1,768
votes cast at combined election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS;
That each of the candidates for Council Places 1, 3, and 5 received the following number of
votes in this election:

That this election was duly called, notice of election was given in accordance with law, and that
Lynn McIlhaney is hereby authorized to sign the Statement of Canvass of Election, which shall
be attached to and become a part of this resolution; and,
That James Massey was duly elected as City Councilman to Place 1; that Winnie Garner was
duly elected as City Councilman to Place 3; and that Dennis Maloney was duly elected as city
Councilman to Place 5; and,
That the above named persons shall take their oath of office and receive certificates of election as
provided by the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of College Station.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 9t~ day of May, 2001.

CANVASS OF GENERAL ELECTION
I, Lynn Mcllhaney, Mayor of College Station, Texas met with the City Council presiding as the
canvassing board to canvass the general election results tabulated on May 5, 2001 at the City
Hall Council Chambers, College Station, Texas.
I certify that the number of votes cast represented on the resolution correspond with the results
presented on the electronic tabulations.
