AN ORDI'NANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10, "TRAFFIC CODE", OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, BY AMENDING
CERTAIN SECTIONS AS SET OUT BELOW; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
DECLARING A PENALTY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART I:
That an engineering speed study was conducted on the section of Rock Prairie
between the landfill and its intersection with G~ns Prairie Road.
PART 2:
That the results of the study showed that the 85 pereentde speed, the traveling
speed ora prudent driver, is now 50 mph.
PART 3:
That Chapter 10, "Traffic Code", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College
Station, Texas, be amended as set out in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a
part of this ordinance for all purposes
PART 4:
That if any provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be void or
unconstitutional, such holding shall in no way effect the validity of the remaining
provisions or sections of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and
effect.
PART 5
That any person, firm. or corporation violating any of the provls,ons of this
chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be punishable by a fine of not less than One Dollars ($1.00) nor more than
Two Hundred Dollars ~$200 00) Each day such wolation shall continue or be
permitted to continue, shall be deemed a separate offense Said Ordinance. being
a penal ordinance, becomes effective ten (10} days after its date of passage by the
City Council. as provided by Section 35 of the Charter of the City of College
Station.

EXHIBIT
That Chapter 10, "Traffic Code", Section 3.E(2), of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
College Station, Texas, is hereby amended, by amending paragraph (i), subsection 110) as set out
hereafter to read as follows:
Rock Prairie Road, for traffic mowng east and west. the speed hm~t shall be forty
(40) m~les per hour from the ~ntersecben of Rock Pm~ne Road and FM 2154
(Wellborn Road) to the ~ntersechon of Rock Pm~ne Road and SH 6 East Frontage
Road
For traffic mowng ~n an easterly d~rect~on for the first 0 498 mile from the
~ntersectlon of Rock Pm~ne Road and SH 6 East Frontage Road. the speed I~m~t
shall be for'q-five (45) miles per hour For the next 2 211 m~les, the speed I~m~t
shall be fifty (50) m~les per hour For the next 2 278 m~les, the speed hm~t shall
be th~rty-five (35) m~les per hour to the South CRy LimR
For traffic mowng ~n a westerly d~mcben, for the first 2 278 miles f~om the South
C~ty L~m~t. the speed I~m~t shall be th~rty-five (35) miles per hour For the next
2 211 miles, the speed I~m~t shall be fifty (50) m~les per hour For the next 0 498
m~le. the sj~eed I~m~t shall be forty-five (45) m~les per hour to the intersection of
Rock Pm~ne Road and SH 6 East Frontage Road
