Historic Preservation Committee
Monday, September 9, 2019 — 4:00 pm
Municipal Court at 300 Krenek Tap Road
College Station, Texas 77842.
A quorum of the City Council may or may not attend the Historic Preservation Committee Regular Meeting.
1. Call to Order and announce a Quorum.
2. Possible discussion, and action on absence requests.
3. Possible discussion, and action of previous minutes.
4. Hear Visitors. Visitors after stating name and address for the record may address the Historic
Preservation Committee for three (3) minutes. Topics for deliberation shall be discussed under the
appropriate agenda item, placed on the agenda of a subsequent meeting, or assigned to staff for
research. However, a statement of specific factual information or the recitation of existing policy
may be issued.
Presentation, discussion, and possible action on the proposal for a Texas Historic Marker for
Parkland Dedication in the City of College Station.
6. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding the sub -committees and programs of the
Historic Preservation Committee, including:
• College Station History Project
• Cemetery Project
• Historic Marker Program -applications — Applications received by Shirley & Tiffany.
• College Station Oral History Interviews & Educational Initiatives
• Exploring History Lunch Series
• Project Hold report
7. Identification of upcoming local or area historical programs or activities to be placed in a calendar
of events.
8. Report by the Director of Parks and Recreation on matters pertaining to the Historic Preservation
Committee.
9. Presentation, possible action, and discussion on future agenda items - A Historic Preservation
Member may inquire about a subject for which notice has not been given. A statement of specific
factual information or the recitation of existing policy may be given. Any deliberation shall be
limited to a proposal to place the subject on an agenda for a subsequent meeting.
10. Presentation, possible action, and discussion of historical items presented by committee members,
which may include historical books, pictures, artifacts, scrapbooks, or other memorabilia. No action
will be taken.
11. Adjourn.
