Historic Preservation Committee
Monday, April 02, 2018 – 4:00 pm

The City Council may or may not attend the Historic Preservation Committee Regular Meeting.

1. Called to order and announced a Quorum at 4 p.m.
2. No absence requests received.
3. The Historic Preservation Committee voted unanimously to approve the March minutes.
4. No visitors were present.
5. The Historic Home Tour Brochure has been dist ributed around town. Sherry Frisk will check ever y
few weeks to see if the locations need to be restocked.
Blanche Brick asked that David add money in his budget for the College Station History Book
addition 1989 to current.
Blanche Brick discussed ideas with the committee regarding the 80th Anniversary Celebration. She
would like the HPC to be involved in the planning of the event that will take place on a Saturday in
October. More details to come.
No new Histori c Marker Program applications were received. A suggestion was made to go on the
local TV station and make the public aware of the program.
Sherry Frisk is still doing research on the Cemetery project and has talked to Bill Page for help.
Brooke Lisenbardt is in the process of conducting Oral History interviews, and has been talking to
the McCullock Neighborhood and is helping them with a community grant and Historic Marker
applications.
Ben Zimmer and Marilyn Randal are working on speakers for Exploring History Lunch Lecture,
they have speakers scheduled through August 2018.
6. David Schmitz had nothing to report.
7. No upcoming local or area historical programs to report.
8. No future agenda items were given.
9. Committee members brought historic items for the committee to look at.
10. Meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
