The City Council may or may not attend the Senior Advisory Committee Meeting.

Kelby, Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation and Ana Romero, Recreation
Manager
V. Remarks and possible discussion by Chairman Mickey Stokes
VI. Presentation, possible action and discussion on Senior Services Coordinator Report
regarding current and upcoming programs and events
• October 6, 13, 20: Saturday Senior Social at Southwood Community Center
from 1-4 p.m. The center will be open for seniors that want to visit, play
games, socialize or watch TV with friends. Please join us in the meeting room
and support this new program. No social on the 27th due to a pre -booked
rental.
• October 4: 2-4 p.m. Basic Jewelry Making by Linda Fisher — BYOB "Bring
Your Own Beads" We had a guest instructor Mr. Joe Fisher.
• October 15: Self Defense for Seniors by Bryan Collins 3:30-4:00 p.m.
• October 16: KBTX promotion of the Senior Fall Fest
• October 30: Potluck & Pizza Social with music by the Jam Session Players
• October 25: Fall Fest @ American Pavilion from 5-7 p.m.
• October 25: Fall Dance 7-9 p.m.
• November 7: Basic Jewelry Making with Linda Fisher & Joe Fisher 3-5 p.m.
BYOB -Bring Your Own Beads
• November 8: Houston Day Trip to Nutcracker Market is sold out
• November 9, 16, 30 & 12/7: Interactive Art & Crafts Workshop with
Electronics taught by Dr. Seo with 1 on 1 instruction from 3:30 — 5 p.m. Space
is limited — must RSVP at the front desk. TAMU College of Architecture

• November 14: Exploring History Lunch Lecture "Muster Speeches Book" by
Jerry Cooper
• November 14: Lunch and Learn — Transitional Care & Rehabilitation by
Jessica Garner with Accel. RSVP at front desk.
• November 14: Introduction & Discussion of Tai Chi by Bryan Collins 3:30-
4:00 p.m.
• November 19: Thanksgiving Pot Luck Rehearsal Dinner from 11:30 a.m. —
Ip.m. We provide the turkey and everyone brings a covered dish. No line
dancing this day and Forevercise will have a delayed start at 2 p.m.
• November 22-25: Center is closed for Thanksgiving Holidays
• November 27: Potluck & Pizza Social with the Jam Session Players. Please
bring a dish to share and join in this fun and entertaining social.
• November 29: Ringer library Anime Club Meeting 4-5 p.m.
• November 29: Monthly Dance 7-9 p.m.
VII. Presentation, discussion and possible action on future agenda items: A Committee
member may inquire about a subject for which notice has not been given. A
statement of specific factual information or the recitation of existing policy may be
given. Any deliberation shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on an
agenda for a subsequent meeting.
