TRASH COLLECTION
The process of moving in and out of a
home can sometimes result in a mountain
of unwanted items and trash. Please
consider donating lightly used furniture,
clothing and other household items to local
organizations instead of placing them out
for sanitation collection.
Trash containers must be placed at the curb
in front of your residence before 8 a.m. on
your designated collection day. Garbage
should be bagged, tied and securely stored
in your container. The lid should be closed
at all times. Do not place your containers
closer than four feet from other containers,
mailboxes, cars or trees. Do not pile bags/
trash on top or around your container or
the sanitation truck’s automated arm will
not be able to collect it.

People from all walks of life call College
Station home. It is vital to recognize
that while we may all have differences,
we still strive for a common goal: to live
in a united community that places equal
value on all its residents, whether they
are families, retirees or college students.
Creating and sustaining harmonious
neighborhood relations is a responsibility
that rests with every citizen.
SAY HOWDY & EXCHANGE INFORMATION
Once settled into your new home,
introduce yourself to your neighbors and
offer them your contact information in case
of emergencies or other problems.
Notify your neighbors when you plan to
host a large gathering. Ask them to contact
you with any noise or parking complaints.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
National Night Out is Tuesday, Oct. 3. This
nationwide campaign is an opportunity for
neighborhoods to build police-community
partnerships and heighten community
spirit. Residents are encouraged to attend
National Night Out Block Parties if one is
being held in their neighborhood. Local
law enforcement officers will be stopping

container should be neatly placed on the

cut into a maximum of 8-foot lengths and
placed in a separate pile.
Citizens with blue, single-stream recycling
containers collected by Brazos Valley
Recycling are encouraged to review the
list of acceptable items printed on top of
each container. Only clean items should be
placed in your recycling container. Anything
not on the list should be put in the garbage.
Shredded paper is the only recyclable that
should be placed in clear plastic. Bagging
other items isn’t necessary and could cause
significant and costly damage to the sorting
equipment.
Per city ordinance, you must remove your
garbage and recycling containers from the
curb within 12 hours of collection.
For more information about sanitation or
recycling, visit cstx.gov/sanitation, email
pubworks@cstx.gov or call 979.764.3690.
NOISE
It is unlawful for anyone to willfully make or
allow continued loud noise, especially from
10 p.m.-7 a.m. This includes barking dogs.
As a general rule, if you can hear the noise
at the end of your property line, then it’s
too loud.
PARKING
Blocking driveways is a violation of city
ordinance. Pay attention to No Parking Zone
signs or you or your guests may be towed.
Do not park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
Parking on a yard or against the direction of
traffic flow is a code violation.
AVOID CODE VIOLATIONS
Many people don’t think about city codes until
it’s too late. Review a complete list of code
violations at cstx.gov/codeenforcement.
