Storm Drains & Waterways
Only rain down the drain!
Storm drains are designed to prevent
roadway flooding by directing rainwater
to natural bodies of water such as Carters
Creek, Wolf Pen Creek, Bee Creek and Lick
Creek which feed the Navasota River. Litter,
pet waste, dirt, fertilizers, detergents from
washing your car, pesticides, antifreeze
and motor oils are just a few examples of
contaminants that unfortunately enter our
waterways through storm drains.
Help keep our waterways clean by following
fertilizer package instructions, composting
yard waste, cleaning up after your pet,
properly disposing household hazardous
wastes and utilizing commercial car washes
that treat or recycle wastewater.
For more clean water tips and stormwater
information, visit BrazosCleanWater.org.

City Code Enforcement Reminders
Properly dispose of your trash.
Household garbage should be bagged,
tied and securely stored in your provided
sanitation container. The container lid
should be closed at all times, so litter doesn’t
spread. Containers should be placed by the
curb about 4 feet away from obstructions
by 8 a.m. on your designated collection
day. Do not pile bags on top or around your
container. Note that workers do not get
out of the truck for collections, the truck
has an automated arm that collects and
dumps trash into the truck. After your trash
has been collected, you have 12 hours to
remove your container from the curb.
To find out more about sanitation
collections, email pubworks@cstx.gov, call
979.764.3690 or visit cstx.gov/sanitation.
To learn more about city codes or to report
possible violations, call 979.764.6363, email
CommunityEnhancement@cstx.gov or visit
cstx.gov/CodeEnforcement.
