When you choose to attend a college or
university, you are also choosing a home
for the next four (okay, five) years of your
life. Since officially becoming a city in
1938, College Station has served as the
adopted hometown for generations of
Aggies, growing from a tiny town of just
2,000 people to a diverse community of
almost 100,000.
With nearly 30,000 college students living
in College Station, it is vital for students
to learn about their new hometown and
how to be a good neighbor. Hence, the
creation of the Aggie Up Campaign.
Aggie Up is a cooperative campaign
between Texas A&M University and
the cities of Bryan and College Station
to help bring all the programs and
services together that give students
the information and education that
they need to become fully integrated
residents. The following are just a few
outreach examples:
Noise Abatement Class
Off campus Texas A&M University
students who have been charged with a
loud party or noise violation may get the
option to take a Noise Abatement class in
order to reduce their offense. The class
curriculum also includes discussion of
