Duck Jam
The City of College Station presents the
sixth annual Duck Jam at Wolf Pen Creek to
be held on April 29 and 30. The festival will
offer musical entertainment, an inaugural
‘Taste of the Town’ featuring local eateries,
the infamous Retriever Series competition,
annual BBQ Cook-off and more!
Family entertainers will headline the kid’s
stage at The Lil’ Quack Kid’s Area in addition
to Duck Jam’s various other children
attractions including hands-on activities, art
and games.
Ducks Unlimited (DU) is the world’s largest
and most successful wetland and waterfowl
conservation organization. According to
DU, the United States has already lost half
of its wetland acreage and continues to
sacrifice 80,000 acres each year, but with
the help of more than a million supporters,
DU has successfully conserved more than
12 million acres of nature’s most productive
ecosystem. Proceeds from Duck Jam will
support DU’s conservation efforts.
This is a rain or shine event for all ages. For

Spring Season
Stormwater Runoff Pollution
Stormwater runoff occurs when
precipitation from rain flows over
impervious surfaces like driveways,
sidewalks and streets and enters the storm
sewer system. Polluted stormwater runoff
can have many adverse effects on plants,
fish, animals and people.
Any discharge to the municipal storm sewer
that is not entirely composed of storm-
water or listed as a permitted stormwater
discharge is referred to as an illicit discharge.
Illicit discharges may include: water line
flushing of hyper-chlorinated water, non-
residential vehicle washing, chlorinated
swimming pool discharges, contaminated
runoff from construction sites, runoff from
a dumpster, building exterior washing with
soap, parking lot washing with soap, illegal
dumping of solids or liquids and restaurant
oil/grease container leaks.
Public awareness and participation in
this issue is essential. If you observe an
illicit or suspected illicit discharge, please
report it to the Illicit Discharge Hotline at
