April is...
Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse
Prevention Month. This year, the College
Station Police Department has partnered
with Scotty’s House Child Advocacy Center
and other local law enforcement agencies
to help raise awareness of child abuse and
neglect in our community. A dedication
ceremony was held on March 30 for the
Blue Ribbon Tree at the College Station
Police Department. Each blue ribbon on
the tree will represent 200 children in
Brazos County who suffered abuse last year.
“National Child Abuse Prevention month is a
time to increase awareness on the problem
of child abuse and for our community to
join together to help these children and
their families,” said Jeff Capps, College
Station Chief of Police.

Month activities, visit scottyshouse.org.
