However, Utilities Made Easy With e-BILL CITY OF COLLEGE STATION Inside College Station September 2008 From the City of College Station Public Communications Department • College Station, Texas Many people take advantage of mod- ern conveniences in multiple aspects of their lives. One of those aspects is bill paying. Many companies offer electronic notification as well as on- line payment as a convenient option to conduct business. College Station is no exception. College Station Utili- ties has offered an online payment capability for several years and now offers electronic bill notification. We would like to encourage custom- ers to take advantage of e-BILL and e-PAY for multiple reasons. First, think about the environmental impact that your bill has. As College Station goes green, think about the positive impact that you as well as the other 36,000 customers could make by simply switching to e-BILLs. You would also benefit by receiving your utility bill 3-5 days sooner than you currently do by mail. Another ad- vantage to receiving your bill by email is that the e-PAY link is located within only 3,000 of these receive their bill- ing statements online. If the other 7,000 electronic customers signed up for e-BILLs, the City would save approximately $3,500 in paper and postage costs per month! Think about the projects and causes that the City could use that money towards. Utilities Customer Service Manager Cathy Stark said, “We would like to become more conscientious in the use of natural resources, as part of the Green Initiative, by using less paper.” The optimum goal for College Station Utilities is for customers to sign up online and receive e-BILLs, then use the e-PAY system to complete trans- actions, thus creating a paperless system. In addition to conserving natural resources and reducing costs, it would reduce paper waste and save space in our city landfill. Sign up today by visiting www. cstx.gov/ucs and complete the on- line form for e-BILL. For questions, please contact Customer Service at 979-764-3535.
