Christmas in the Park is a month long
holiday celebration that includes over
1 million lights decorating the beauti-
ful 47 acre Stephen C. Beachy Central
Park. The event begins at Thanksgiv-
ing and continues throughout the
month of December each year.
In its 25-year history, Christmas in
the Park has hosted over 2 million
visitors, many of which have been
coming back year after year, making
each Christmas in the Park a holiday
family tradition since 1984.
The event is also a Parks and Recre-
ation family tradition! We have many
second generation parks employees
that are involved in the planning and
production. All of the displays are
hand-made by City of College Station
Parks and Recreation staff.
“Through its hometown family atmo-
sphere, Christmas in the Park has
become a jewel in College Station’s
crown,” said Sheila Walker, Parks and
lit with a wide variety of lights and
decorations, and take their own pic-

Lights will be on November 26
through January 1 from 6:00pm to
11:00pm and holiday celebrations
will commence December 5,6,12,13
from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
This year’s event is sponsored by
“Wind Watts” of College Station Utili-
ties, Waltman and Grisham–Attorneys
at Law, and Kroger.

Ward Off Winter Woes ––––
Below are few friendly tips from College
Station Utilities on how you can save
money and energy this winter season:
• Lower your thermostat to 68
degrees to save on heating costs.
• Dress properly by wearing
warmer clothing – a good time
to break out those sweats!
• Replace your return air filter at
least once a month. Households
with pets that shed may need
to replace more often.
• Have your heater or furnace
serviced to insure that it
is operating properly.
• Check the weather-stripping
around thresholds, doors and
windows and replace or repair
them when necessary.
• Caulk around plumbing and
wiring holes from the attic, and
around socket and switch outlets,
vent-a-hoods, recessed light
complement the existing positive at-
tributes of our management team.”
