HomeMy WebLinkAboutUBI 2008 APR2008 Starlight Music Series Fabulous Music Under the Stars Inside College Station April 2008 From the City of College Station Public Communications Department • College Station, Texas International, National, Regional and local artists will bring quality and variety to the College Station music scene this spring beginning April 5. The Starlight Music Series, a free concert series sponsored by College Station Utilities and The City of College Station, offers live music for everyone! Admission is free to all events. Gates open at 6pm for all Saturday shows and 4pm for the Sunday Symphony Show. Guests are encouraged to park at Post Oak Mall near JCPenny. Coolers, smaller than 48qts and picnic baskets are welcome. No glass containers or pets allowed. A blanket-only seating area has been established, but guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs. While a majority of the facility has been designated a non-smoking area, three smoking areas are available. Amphitheater staff will be available to answer guest questions. Starlight Music Series will include several promotions, giveaways, and free goodies, including: Two Tickets to Paradise (trip for two to Reno), Tuff Enuff (trip for two to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame), Galveston get-away weekend, Schlitterbahn tickets, Post Oak Mall Gift Cards, Kettle gift cards, and Rudy’s gift cards. “We have something for everyone,” said Sheila Walker, Wolf Pen Creek Venue Manager and Starlight organizer. “The 2008 line up is as strong a schedule as we have seen in our previous six years. It is heavy in talent, variety, and audience appeal!” Wolf Pen Creek will also feature some great hot dogs, nachos, hamburgers and pizza this year in addition to the very best Kettle Korn in the state of Texas. Both entries were a cooperative effort between Jennifer Nations, Water Resources Coordinator, and Mark Beal, Broadcast Media Specialist. Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE). Products displaying an Energy Star logo meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by these federal agencies. Look for the Energy Star logo displayed on the appliance, its packaging, or on the Energy Guide label. There is no limit as to the number of qualifying products that may be purchased during this sales tax holiday and no exemption certificate is required for purchase.
