i'. Agenda Item #8 - Consideration of a committee recommendation for a name for Highway
30 to be forwarded to the City Council. On motion by Commissioner Calliham, seconded
by Commissioner Wallace, the Commission approved the Planning Committee's recom-
mendation that Highway 30 be named "Harvey Road".
Agenda Item #9 - Other Business. It was pointed out by Commissioner Wallace that it
might be a good idea for the Planning Committee to come up with a name for the By-
passes to get away from using the term "by-pass". Mr. D. D. Williamson of the Texas
Highway Department stated that cities can not name state or federal highways, but that
access roads can be named.
Agenda Item #10 - Hear Visitors. Richard Smith pointed out that it was very confusing
for someone to be travelling along East 29th and it suddenly becomes Tarrow Street at
the city limits of College Station. It might be considered to rename Tarrow Street to
East 29th Street because of this reason.
Agenda Item #11 - Adjourn. On motion by Commissioner Calliham, seconded by
Commissioner Landiss, the meeting was adjourned subject to call.
