MINUTES
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
December 7, 1970
7:00 p.m.
Members Present: Chairman C. D. Wells; Commissioners Bob Evans, George Boyett,
Carl Landiss, and Douglas Stone; City Engineer Lloyd James; City
Planner George Eby; and City Council Liaison Bill J. Cooley
Members Absent: Commissioners J. A. Orr and Carl Tishler
Visitors Present: Jane Howell, Edward Miller, J. R. Gardner, Marcia Richards,
W. D. Fitch, John Heyde, and Cherlyn Perkins
Chairman Wells called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room at the
City Hall. Commissioner Stone moved the Minutes of November 16, 1970 be approved as
written. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Landiss. Motion carried.
The Commission considered P&Z Case No. 42-70, which is the dedication of South-
west Parkway and two utility easements. Chairman Wells reminded the developer, Mr.
W. D. Fitch, that under the new Subdivision Ordinance, sidewalks would be required on
both sides of the street.
On motion by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Evans, the preliminary
plat dedication of Southwest Parkway, including the utility easements, was approved.
(P&Z Case No. 42-70). Motion carried.
The City Planner explained that he had all the Minutes of the P&Z meetings compiled,
which are to be used for the Annual Report. He stated it was just a matter of finding time to
get the report written. Chairman Wells asked if each member of P&Z would bring recommen-
dations of those projects that were particularly important to the City for the next meeting on
December 21.
On motion by Commissioner Boyett, seconded by Commissioner Landiss, the meeting
adjourned.
