Dear Mayor:
Approximately 4 months ago I submitted to the City Council
a request to rezone my property on Meadowland St. College Station,
from a duplex area to a multiple dwelling unit area.
The request was forwarded to the zoning g committee who met
and declined the request. After checking with Mr. Boswell he
advised me of the decision, but did not know the exact facts con-
cernin;M the declination. However, he arranged for me to meet with
the zoning committee at their next meeting to assertain the facts .
4111 Mr. Boswell and I met with the zoning committee and I
asked the committee if they declined the request because they did.
not favor an apartment house ' in this area .
The chairman of the committee stated unequivocally that
they were definately in favor of rezoning the area, but was
declining the request because of the street situation. That is, it
was a narrow street and was in bad repair. That is the only reason
given for declining the request.
I am of the opinion that the reason stated is not suffi-
cient to decline the request for rezoning, and also as a private,
taxpaying citizen I am unduly deprived of the rightful use of my
property.
Due to the facts stated above I respectfully request that
the Mayor and City Council reconsider my original request to
rezone the Meadowland Street property.
I would appreciate he9ring from you personally regarding
this request at your earliest convenience .
