Dear
In 2013, College Station will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary as a city. On October 19, 1938, an election was held at the depot. A mere 256 citizens voted 217 to 39 to incorporate.
The Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) of the City of College Station has been charged with the task of planning and coordinating activities, as well as, executing a variety of events
leading up to and including a culminating event on October 19, 2013.
The HPC has made an initial presentation to the Mayor and City Council and received an excellent response. It is our intent to involve as many individuals and organizations in our planning. Thus,
I invite you to attend a special breakfast meeting to hear our tentative plans with the intent of asking for your ideas, participation, and support. We recognize we can't do this alone
and with so many talented people in College Station, hopefully, you will lend your expertise to this important event.
