Annual Report MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD SEPTEMBER 13, 1978 411 The Bryan Public Library Board of Trustees met in regular session on September 13, 1978 in the Reference Room of the library. Present were everyone. Before convening, Mrs. Pringle presented Mrs. Julie Judd, our new Children's Librarian, to the Board. Mrs. Judd devoted some time in telling the Board of her education and experience in other libraries. Under regular business, the minutes of the August meeting were approved as written. The statistics were examined and discussed. After some discussion about selected book titles, Mrs. Peters moved acceptance of the booklist and Mrs. Allen seconded it. Prior to this meeting, Hubert Nelson, Acting City Manager, and Bruce Chandler, from the Inspection Department, examined the basement conditions. Mr. Bryan and Mrs. Pringle commented briefly on their suggestions. A formal report will be prepared but • temporary measures concerning the trapped water in the flower beds adjacent to the foundation will be handled immediately. There is no apparent structural problem re- sulting from the water. The librarian and the Board will have to consider any future plans concerning refinishing the basement in order to provide storage space. The librarian reported her conversation with North Bardell, College Station City Manager, about their contributions to our book budget. At present, no contract or money has been received. Under new business, the librarian explained the Fine-Free Book Campaign, which will run September 13 through October 13. The library has recently added two paperback racks and plastic binders for the current issues of magazines. Several wooden chairs, a table and a clock have been transferred from the Tax Department to the library. • The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m. Mrs. R. J. Holmgreen, President Mrs. Linda Pringle, Librarian and Secretary to the Board BRYAN PUBLIC LIBRARY ACCOUNT 4027 AUGUST 1978 ACCOUNT NAME BUDGET EXPEND. ENCUM. UNENCUM. BAL.
