Personnel MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD JUNE 14, 1978 The Bryan Public Library Board of Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, June 14 in the Reference Room of the Library. Present were Mrs. R. J. Halnigreen,President of the Board, Mrs. Bookman Peters, Mr. Travis B. Bryan, Jr. , Mrs. Jesse Flores, and Mrs. C. J. Allen. Absent were Mrs. R. H. Harrison, III, and Mrs. Willie Pruitt. Under regular business, the minutes of the May meeting were approved as corrected. The statistics were examined and discussed. Mrs. Peters moved acceptance of the booklist and Mrs. Flores seconded it. The librarian discussed the problem of overdue materials and reported the methods which various libraries within Texas utilize to handle this situation. The Library Board considered all of the possibilities and for the present recommended that a person • be hired as a collection agent for overdue materials. The librarian will include this statement in the forthcoming budget. The Library Board recognizes this problem, is concerned and has directed the librarian to further investigate the possibility of a circulation computerized control system. The librarian read the report by Mrs. R. H. Harrison on the volunteer program. After much discussion, the Library Board suggested that the librarian begin this program on a limited basis. The librarian reported on the four Brazos Valley Development Council students, who we have working in the library and what a helpful addition they are to the staff. Mrs. R. J. Holmgreen reported that Mrs. Madge Wallace has offered to the library four sepia prints of early Texas and Mr. Travis Bryan, Jr. moved that the Library Board and the library accept this generous gift. The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m. S Mrs. R. J.
