Ms.Evelyn King,former librarian at Evans Library was also present. 3. President Larry Ringer called the meeting to order at 5:25.p.m. 4. Minutes of the November 17, 2002 meeting were approved as distributed. 5. Statistics for the months of November and December 2002 were reviewed. 6. A. The mold remediation project has experienced several delays. The date of remediation has not been • determined. 7. A. President Larry Ringer welcomed new library board member, Dr. James Bradford. Jo Berg, Charles Smith and Shirley Watts were reappointed to serve another two-year term. B. Mrs.Mounce reported the Teen Winter Reading activities were successful in Bryan. Attendance at the activities at the College Station Library was significantly lower. However, Mrs. Mounce stated that the College Station Youth Services Librarian position will be filled in February 2003 and she looks forward to increased support for next year's activities. C. Mrs. Mounce attended a Texas State Library Focus Group in Waco in January, 2003 to share ideas on what is happening to libraries in the state. She reported that the consultant group of Himmel and Wilson has been contracted by the state library to study public libraries in Texas to report how citizens are served. Mrs. Mounce will meet with the consultant on February 7, 2002 and host a tour of the Bryan + College Station Public Library System. D. The Community Librarian provided the library board with preliminary figures from the Annual Report, 2001-2002. Increases were shown in the number of library visitors, people using computers, program attendance and circulation. A copy of the report is attached to these minutes. 8. In the Librarian's report,Mrs. Mounce asked Dr. Bradford to share his background and any concerns for discussion for the board. He mentioned collection development for audio books and books on CD's. Mrs. Mounce stated that the parking garage proposed for the land between the Courthouse and Library may receive federal grant money for the project. She said the tax return forms are available at the library,but that we received fewer quantities than in the past,probably due to many patrons filing tax returns electronically. The Loan Star funds will be used to purchase an indexing system for the Carnegie Center. 9. The next meeting will be held on March 18,2003 at the Bryan Library. 10.
