OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
MAR . 15 , 1994
1 . On the 15th of March 1994 the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas
convened in a regular session at the Bryan Public Library at 5: 15 p .m.

Also present was Mrs . Clara B. Mounce, City Librarian, and Mrs . Lura M414.s.,
secretary . Librarians present were Ms . Angela Alford, Ms . Kathleen Dill , Mrs .
Ann Moore, and Mrs. Nan Ross .
3. There were no visitors .
4. The minutes were approved as mailed.
5 . The statistics for January and February were provided in the mailout.
6 . There were no committee reports .
7 . In the librarian' s report, Mrs . Mounce stated that the Brazos County
Alllistorical Commission will present copies of a book about historical markers
1111Fin Brazos County at a meeting of the Commissioners Court on March 28 at 9 a.m.
Board members were encouraged to attend. She announced a recent gift of the
Brazos Valley Genealogical Society, two copies of cemetery listings from all
cemeteries in the county. Janis Hunt, a member , provided an up to date
listing of directions to the cemeteries in the county . Mrs . Hunt spent an
entire week end driving to each of the places described.
8 . In unfinished business , the status of the application for a grant from the
Department of Transportation was discussed. Mrs . Mounce was asked to inquire
again as to the status of the grant .
9 A. Mrs . Mounce announced that Mary Evelyn Tielking, a long time member of
the Friends, will complete the term left vacant by the resignation of
Celeste Hurley . Mrs . Tielking currently serves as secretary to the Friends .
She had prior commitments and was unable to attend this meeting. She will
be introduced at the May 17 meeting. Mrs . Vance and Mrs . Tolson will
complete their six years on the board in June and will be replaced . Dr .
David has moved out of the city and will not be eligible for reappointment.
Jim Aldredge is eligible for reappointment .
B . Friends annual meeting on April 19 at 7 p.m. was announced by Mrs . Vance,
current president of the Friends . Dr . Fred Heath, new director of the Texas
A&M Libraries, will be the guest speaker . The meeting is open to the
public.
C. The Friends recently purchased easy picture book browsers for both
libraries . A new computer and laser printer is to be purchased. A new
reference book shelf is on order .
