Judge McDonald reported that he had collected the $2000 check, Brazos
County's appropriation for Carnegie Library for the year 1969. A discussion
ensued. The history of the County's appropriation over the years was re-
viewed. Dr. Crawford pointed out that 25% of the Library's active borrowers
lived outside the city limits of Bryan. Dr. Walton moved that the Board
should consider appearing before the County Commissioners Court at its
budget meeting to request a yearly appropriation which would be represent-
ative of the County's participation in the use of the Carnegie Public Library.
The motion was seconded and passed.
Mr. Sandlin announced the appointment by the Mayor of two representatives
from the City Council to the Library Building Committee. They are Mr. Bell
and Mr. Herrera. A tentative meeting of the Building Committee was set for
411 Thursday evening at 7:30 in the Council Room of the Utilities Building.

torium of the new building. A meeting would be set up with Mr. Peurifoy,
Chairman of the Library Building and Grounds Committee, and Mr. W. H. Kellet,
Jr. to prepare the necessary plans and specifications for its purchase and
