M. in the new Library. Those members present were Mrs. John McIntyre, Mr. W. D. Dunn, Judge W. T. McDonald, Mr. R. L. Peurifoy, and Dr. T. T. Walton, Jr. Mr. Fred Sandlin, City Manager, was present as was Mrs. Hazel Richardson, the Librarian. In the absence of the President, Dr. Crawford, Dr. Walton presided. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. There were no statistics. Mrs. Richardson reported that with moving the library and Mrs. Eden's illness there had been no time to prepare them but that they would be ready before the next regular meeting. Under old business the need for a piano was discussed. Mrs. Richardson reported that Stuart Music Company had found a buyer for the organ we were renting. Judge 4111 McDonald moved we rent a piano from Stuart Music Company with the understanding that we would get bids on a piano later and buy it from the Brandon estate fund. Mr. Dunn seconded the motion which passed. Mr. Sandlin advised the Board that the sound equipment for the auditorium had been purchased and that when it all arrived Mr. Kellett would have it installed. The new programs were discussed and it was decided that it would be better to start them in February after the beginning of the second semester at which time, too, the sound system would probably be installed. Mrs. Richardson reported a gift of Mr. Robert Wood of a set of the Great Books of the Western World. Dr. Walton will use these with the Great Books Program. The remainder of the meeting was consumed in d2scussingthe dedication and opening of the new Library ori-,Sunday. The Librarian reported that the move had gone very smoothly and that almost everything to be moved from the old building was in and in order. After adjournment at 6:00 P. M. the Board members toured the building.
