MINUTES
Members Present: Joyce Davis, Rick Heaney, Laura Holmes, Edgar Jones, Robert Meyer,
Neal Nutall, Raymond Reed, Colleen Risinger, Jean Roberts, Ron Silvia, Doreen Todd and
Joanna Yeager.
Members Absent: E.E. Burns, Dorothy Hernandez, Jack Hernandez, Edgar Jones and
Yvonne Stevens
Staff Present: Marci Rodgers, Senior Services Coordinator
I. Call to order The meeting was called to order at 10:00 am by Robert Meyer,
Chairman
II. Hear visitors No visitors present
III. Approval of minutes from regular meeting on March 31, 2008 Rick Heaney
made the motion that the minutes be approved. Ron Silvia seconded the motion.
The motion passed.
IV. Update, possible action and discussion from members of the Citizen's Capital
Improvement Projects Committee Robert Meyer reported that the committee did
not meet last Tuesday, April 22, 2008, but the group will meet again on Tuesday,
April 29, 2008. The proposed bond program will ask voters to approve
approximately $60 million dollars in projects. The citizens committee is working
hard to make a recommendation to the City Council on what items should be
considered on the bond issue.
V. Update, discussion, and possible action from "Coffee with the Mayor" held
Friday, April 18, 2008 Mayor, Ben White met with seniors to gather information
and discuss concerns in an informal setting. Topics discussed included the senior
tax freeze, community center and long term use for city property on Krenek Tap
Road. The next coffee with the Mayor will be held on the third Friday in May.
The public is welcome to attend.
VI. Discussion, consideration and possible action on Senior Services Coordinator
report regarding upcoming programs and events. (Report Attached)
• Texas Conference on Aging: April 6—9, 2008
• Brazos Valley Senior Games: April 17—20, 2008
The following members agreed to work one hour shifts at the Senior Services booth
at the Seniors Expo on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 to be held at the Brazos Center.

VII. Presentation, discussion and possible action on future agenda items: A
Committee member may inquire about a subject for which notice has not been
given. A statement of specific factual information or the recitation of existing
policy may be given. Any deliberation shall be limited to a proposal to place
the subject on an agenda for a subsequent meeting.
