HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/08/2002 - Regular Minutes - Conference Center Advisory Committee CITY OF COLLEGE STATION CONFERENCE CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE Monthly Meeting Tuesday, October 8, 2002 AT 5:15p.m. College Station Conference Center 1300 George Bush Drive College Station, Texas 77840 MINUTES Staff Present: Grace Calbert,Conference Center Facility Supervisor Nita Hilburn,Recording Secretary Members Present: Mollie Guin(Chair),Ed Holdredge,Fran Lamb(Vice Chair),Glenda Elledge Visitors Present: None Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 5:10pm by Mollie Guin. Pardon-Consider requests for absences of members from meeting: None Hear visitors-None Presentation,Discussion and Possible Action concerning changing the procedure for Revenue Reports for September 2002: Mr. Holdredge motioned to approve the revenue reports as submitted. Glenda Seconded the motion. Consideration of meeting minutes from regular meeting of September 10,2002: Fran moved to accept meeting minutes with the following corrections: The original minutes read,under adjourn that Ed Holdredge motioned,Glenda moved the motion, and Fran seconded the motion. The correction should be that Glenda moved the motion, and Fran seconded the motion only. Adjourn: Fran Lamb moved to adjourn the meeting. Ed Holdredge moved the motion and Glenda seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 5:00pm. The next meeting will be held at the College Station Conference Center on November 12,2002 at 5:15pm. Respectfully submitted, Nita Hilburn,Recording Secretary Timeline for Lincoln Center Master Plan Review July 3,2002 July 12th Complete and finalize wording for the survey. July 26th Present to Lincoln Center Advisory Board for approval before administering the survey. August 23rd Complete surveys and start tallying numbers. September 9th Return results of the survey to the Lincoln Center Advisory Board and conduct a public hearing. October 14th Present and discuss staff analyses of the survey results with the Lincoln Center Advisory Board. November Continue&finalize data collection and analyses. 1) What is wanted for Tarrow Park 2) What is wanted for the Lincoln Center Collection groups should include: Lincoln School Former Students Concerned Black Men Org. Area churches that use the center City Departments—PARD&others Regular user of the center Renter of the center Seniors Adults—older&younger Youth Lincoln Center Staff December 9th Conduct a public hearing with the Lincoln Center Advisory Board and prioritize list. January 2003 Staff will compile information in to a plan. February 2003 Distribute draft plan to both Lincoln Center Advisory Board and the Parks&Recreation Advisory Board for editing. March 2003 Present to the Parks&Recreation Advisory Board and the Lincoln Center Advisory Board during a joint meeting and public hearing in order to approve plan. In the |etber, it states that the program has "added years of better health to our lives." In the same letter, Vera Solis was thanked for her"outstanding management of the pool personnel." The Hudsons stated that they enjoy"the cleanest pools, grounds, and dressing rooms ever..." and "the Lifeguards are capable, well-trained, and efficient." Sr. 8ecretory, Pamela 8pringfie\d, received a letter from the President of the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Committee expressing his gratitude to Pam for the excellent job she has done as the recording secretary for the committee. Ho - everyone had a great Thanksgiving Holiday:) The next regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory s.rd will be held this Tuesday,December 10,2002,at 7:00 p.m.,at the Teen Center(Rock Prairie Road). Please see I ched minutes from the November 12th regular meeting. Please let me know if you have any questions or changes to the minutes so that they can be made,and a -ndments distributed at the meeting. Please also see attached agenda for the meeting on Tuesday.
