They directed that an appraisal be conducted on the site and will re-consider this item once the appraisal has been completed. 7 . WINTER POOL HOURS - I have attached a copy of the winter pool hours that will be in effect until May, 1986. Thomas Pool will be serving various users beginning at 5:30 AM weekdays and ending as late as 10 PM. The pool operation is dependent upon the severity of the winter and hours will be adjusted accordingly. 8. SOUTHWOOD POOL AND TENNIS CENTER - Problems still exist with both the pool and the tennis surfacIng. The pool is closed due to a "chalking" effect caused by the coating that was applied to the gutters . This causes the water • to become extremely cloudy resulting in a safety and health hazard. The tennis court surface has again separated from the undercoat in several areas . Both problems have been referred to the contractor. No estimated dates have been given for the correction of these problems and I do not anticipate re-opening the pool again this year. 9 . LETTERS - I have enclosed copies of several letters received by this Department recently. Some good - some bad. COPIES: City Council • North Barden, City Manager, •• • - . • • •
