Dear Mrs. Inglis:
Councilman Ruesink provided a copy of your note dated August 5,2006 concerning the Project HOLD
program. Project HOLD is one of several programs in the Historic Preservation division which is a part of
the Information Services Department. It is also supported by the Historic Preservation Committee(HPC)
which is made up of citizens appointed by the City Council. Due to the value of this program the budget as
proposed by staff for fiscal year 2006-2007 contains an increase in funding to the Historic Preservation
division in order to meet growing costs.
The City is committed to continuing this program as well as several other programs of the HPC which are
equally successful as long as the City is financially able to do so. I personally value this program and look
forward to working with and through it for many years as it gives one a sense of place and belonging.
If you have questions or would like to discuss this further please call me at 764-3560 or email
obumside(icstx.gov. Thank you for caring enough to communicate your concerns for our community.
