REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

MEMBERS PRESENT
: Sarah Adams, Chair; Weldon Kruger, Virginia Reese, Randy
Matson, Sara Mirza, Bahman Yazdani
STAFF PRESENT:
Ross Albrecht, Forestry/Urban Landscape Manager; Robert Hole,
Cemetery Sexton; Helen Banks, Secretary
MEMBERS ABSENT:
Joe Wallace, Kevin Myers, James Batenhorst, Roger Reese
Call to order
1. : Sarah Adams, Chair, called the meeting to order with a quorum present at
11:05 a.m.
Requests for absences of members
2. : James Batenhorst sent in a request for absence.
Weldon Kruger made a motion to approve the absence request submitted, and Randy
Matson seconded the motion. The vote was called. All were in favor, and the motion
passed unanimously.
Presentation, possible action, and discussion on the approval of Cemetery Advisory

Committee minutes
: Sara Mirza made a motion to approve the minutes as submitted, and
Virginia Reese seconded the motion. The vote was called. All were in favor, and the
motion passed unanimously.
Recognition and discussion with past members for their service to the committee

Administering the Oath of Office and Swearing in of new and reappointed committee

Presentation, possible action, and discussion regarding the marketing and dedication

efforts
: Ross Albrecht, Urban Landscape Manager, gave updates on the marketing efforts.
Ross also mentioned that the dedication ceremony will be pushed back to June, 2009. This
was an informational item only, and no action was required.

from TAMU property to the Memorial Cemetery of College Station

this item was closed.
Presentation, possible action, and discussion on a variance request for potential

monument installation in the College Station Cemetery (Pewthers- Section D)
:
Bob Hole, Cemetery Sexton, presented to the committee a variance request for a potential
monument installation in the College Station Cemetery for the Pewthers family.
Discussion followed. Bahman Yazdani made motion to approve the variance request and
Virginia Reese seconded the motion. The vote was called. All were in favor, and the
motion passed unanimously.
