Slocum Members Absent: Kevin Myers Staff Present: Ross Albrecht, Forestry Superintendent; Steve Beachy, Director; Amanda Putz, Secretary Visitors Present: Dick Birdwell, 3 Forest Dr., College Station, TX Dean Fonville, 3510 Graz Dr., College Station, TX Michael Martin, Edwards & Kelcey: Project Manager 1.Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 11:34 a.m. 2.Presentation, possible action and discussion regarding requests for absences of members: There were no absentee requests submitted. 3.Presentation, possible action, and discussion on the approval of Cemetery Advisory Committee Joint meeting minutes from February 1, 2007 : Weldon Kruger made a motion to amend the minutes as written: On the last page of the February 1, 2007 Joint Meeting minutes Council Member Place 1, Ben White asks, β€œIs it safe to say that we will get some type of help from the Former Students Association on this cemetery?” (Yes, we should, and from the Corps of Cadets Association and the Former Yell Leaders Association.) David Chester seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion passed unanimously. 4. Presentation, possible action, and discussion regarding recommendations for amenities to be included in Phase I of the new municipal cemetery: Discussion and a question and answer session followed on possible amenities to be included in Phase I of the new municipal cemetery. Handouts were given – Parks and Recreation Staff Recommendations on Phase I components. A Spirit Gate sub-committee was assigned and those members are R.C. Slocum, Joe Wallace and Weldon Kruger. Weldon Kruger was appointed as the chair for the Spirit Gate sub-committee. 5. Presentation, possible action, and discussion on future agenda items: A Committee Member may inquire about a subject for which notice has not been given. A statement of specific factual information or the recitation of existing policy may be given. Any deliberation shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on an agenda for a subsequent meeting: 6. Hear visitors: None 7.
