Special City Council Meeting
April 5, 1976

The Council canvassed the results of the Municipal Election held April 3, 1976.
Agenda Item No. 2 --Consideration of a resolution cert.ifyi_ng election.
Mayor Holt read the following resolution approving the results of the April 3, 1976
Municipal Election.
RESOLUTION
CITY OF COLLEGE STATION
There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the 3rd
day of April, 1976, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and five Councilmen, and it
appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said
election 3,067 valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said election
received the following votes:

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in
accordance with law, and that said election was held in accordance with law, and
that Lorence "Larry" Bravenec was duly elected Mayor and that Lane B. Stephenson,
Larry J. Ringer, Jim Gardner, Anne Hazen and James H. Dozier were duly elected
Councilmen of said City at said election, and that said above named parties are
hereby declared duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the taking of
their oaths as provided by the laws of the State of Texas.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 5th day of April, 1976.

Councilman Adams moved that the resolution be adopted. The motion was seconded
by Councilman Dozier and unanimously approved.
Mayor Holt read a resolution approving the results of the Charter Revision Election
held April 3, 1976. The resolution was as follows:
RESOLUTION
CITY OF COLLEGE STATION
There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the 3rd
day of April, 1976, for the purpose of amending the city charter, and it appearing
from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election
2,351 valid and legal votes; that the amendment is said election received the
following votes:
FOR 1,190
AGAIN ST 1,161
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
That said election was duly called; the notice of said election was given in
accordance with law, and that said election was held in accordance with law,
and that said amendment was approved at said election, and that the Mayor is
directed to file a certified copy of said amendment with the Secretary of State.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 5th day of April, 1976.

Councilman Adams moved that the resolution be adopted. The motion was seconded
by Councilman Gardner and approved by the following vote:
FOR --- Mayor Holt; Councilman Adams, Gardner
AGAINST --- Councilman Dozier, Halter
A. genda Item No. 3 -- Swearing in of newly elected officials.
Mayor Holt administered the oath of office to:
Councilman Anne Hazen
Councilman Lane B. Stephenson
Councilman Larry Ringer
Councilman James Dozier
Councilman Jim Gardner
Mayor Larry Bravenec
Mayor Bravenec called a Special Council Meeting to be held April 7, 1976 at
4:00 P.M.
Mayor Bravenec appointed Councilmen Gardner, Dozier and Halter to study the result
of the Charter Revision Election.
Councilman Dozier moved that the meeting be adjourned.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Halter and unanimously approved.
The meeting was adjourned.
