B. 1270 Northland Drive Suite 200 Mendota Heights, MN 55120 RE: Hearing Notification— 1201/1203 Georgia Street(Lot 7, Block 10, McCulloch Addition, College Station, Texas) Dear Sir or Madam: The City of College Station Building and Standards Commission met on Monday, 9 December 2002 to consider evidence concerning the condition of the duplex located at the above referenced address. After hearing the evidence presented, the Commission voted unanimously to declare the structure unsafe and ordered the structure secured against unauthorized entry within 30 days. The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the order issued by the Commission has not been complied with and to make you aware that the Building and Standards Commission will meet once again to consider this property on 17 February 2003 at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers at 1101 Texas Avenue in College Station,TX. At that meeting, City staff will recommend that the Commission order the City to perform the work required to abate any code violations. If the Commission orders the City to perform the work, we will place a lean against the property to recover the costs associated with the work. Such charges shall include,but not be limited to: photography,publication,title report, attorney's fees and labor and equipment to secure the structure. Sincerely, 7._____Z__ Lance Sims,CBO Building Official Home of Texas A&M University City of College Station Building and Standards Commission Staff Report Item: Consideration of a report and recommendation from the Building Official concerning a structure located at 1201/1203 Georgia Street(Lot 7, Block 10, McCulloch Addition, Brazos County, Texas). Item Summary: This case involves a vacant duplex that is open to the public due to numerous broken windows. Both front doors are also open on the structure. Due to these conditions and the fact that the structure is in a general state of disrepair, the Commission declared the structure unsafe and ordered the owner to secure the structure from unauthorized entry within 30 days. This action was taken at the Commission's meeting on 9 December 2002. To date, the owner has failed to comply with the Commission's order. According to Chapter Three, College Station Code of Ordinances, the Commission can order the City to perform the work. Required to abate the substandard condition(s). If the City performs the work ordered by the Commission, a lean will be placed against the property to cover all cost associated with said work.
