March 4, 1938 – Original petition presented to A&M
June 2, 1938 – Petition with 165+ signatures presented to Judge John Ferguson, Brazos County
Oct. 19, 1938 – Election to Incorporate held in Southern Pacific Depot; passed 217 to 39
November 11, 1938 – First meeting held to elect a council
November 28, 1938 – Councilmen took office
February 25, 1939 – First Council meeting held
Questions to Answer:
What have we done in the past?
50th – Commemorative plate, Historic Homes Calendar, Historic Homes Tour, Book, Golden Anniversary Ball (March 25, 1988) at the Conference Center
60th – Oral History Project – 13 binders of city history
65th – Designed a seal
70th – Honoring Our Mayors Exhibit, Council Reunion, Coffee with the Mayors, Children’s Art Contest, placed Golden Memories DVD in all CSISD and B/CS libraries
