HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-0249 - Ordinance - 04/10/1957ORDINANCE NO. 249 ORDER OF ELECTION AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS ORDERING A RUN-OFF MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION ON TUESDAY, MAY 7, 1957, FCR THE ELECTION OF A COUNCILMAN FOR WARD III; FIXING THE T Its, PLACE AND MANNER OF HOLDING THE ELECTION AND APPOINTING JUDGES AND CLERKS THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: A run-off election shall be and the same is hereby ordered to be held on the first Tuesday in May, 1957, the same being May 7, for the purpose of electing a Councilman for Ward III, of the City of College Station, Texas. Fon The election will be held in the Council Room of the City building and the following persons are hereby appointed managers of said election, to -wit: Mrs. Fred E. Smith, Judge, and Mrs. Walter H. Delaplane and Mrs. W. S. Edmonds , clerks. The polls shall be opened promptly at 8 otclock A. M. and shall be closed promptly at 7 o'clock P. M. STANDARD P & P The election will be held under the provisions of the laws of the State of Texas governing run-off elections, and only duly qualified voters who are residents of Ward III of the City of College Station shall be allowed to vote. A copy of this ordinance, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Secretary shall, when posted at one public place in the City of College Station, serve as proper notice of said election.
