HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950-0149 - Ordinance - 08/14/1950Number 149 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING NEW RATES OR FARES FOR TIHE BRYAN -COLLEGE TRACTION COMPANY WHEREAS, BRYAN -COLLEGE TRACTION COMPANY, A CORPORATION, of Bryan, Texas, the holder of a franchise to operate buses in the City of College Station, Texas, same having been granted it in the year 1946 by the City Council of the City of College Station, has filed a petition with the College Station City Council, same being dated August 14, 1950, in which said Bryan -College. Traction Com -any seeks a rate increase from said College Station City Council by an agreement under the terms of Section Five (5) of its franchise ordinance; and WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, set a public hearing to consider said rate increase as petitioned for, on the 25th day of August, 1950, and after said hearing the College Station City Council gave its consent to said Bryan -College Traction Company to increase its said rates as set forth in its petition, said rates to be charged by said Bryan --College Traction Company are as follows: Fifteen (15) cents for adults' Eight (S) cents for children of twelve (12) years or younger; Forty (40) cents for three adult tokens; Eight (S) cents for all school children riding to and from school on special school buses, regardless of the age of said child; The rates as hereinabove set forth may be made effective by said Bryan -College Traction Company at any time from and after this date. 00328 Number 149 Page 2 NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, that Bryan -College Traction Company, a corporation, be, a.nd it is hereby granted the right and rrivilege of increasing it said rates and/or fares tothe figures -s set forth hereinabove, provided however that no charge is to be made for transfers.
