ORDINANCE NO. 462
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME FROM "SULPHUR SPRINGS ROAD", AND "FM HIGHWAY 60"
BEGINNING AT HIGHWAY 6 AND EKTENDING WFSTERLY TO THE CITY LIMITS OF COLLEGE
STATION, TO "UNIVERSITY DRIVE" IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of College Station has determined
that the naming of the street now known as "Sulphur Springs Road" and "FM High-
way 60" creates needless confusion, and that such situation should be remedied,
THERA ORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College
Station, Texas, that the name of the street now known as "Sulphur Springs Road"
and "FM Highway 60" beginning at Highway 6 and extending westerly to the city
limits of College Station be, and it is hereby, changed to "University Drive."
All signs on said street shall be changed accordingly.
The present name of said street creates needless confusion, and it is
necessary that the street be renamed at once in order to prevent further con-
fusion, and such fact creates an emergency and an urgent public necessity
requiring that the rules and provisions providing for ordinances to be read
more than one time at more than one meeting be suspended, and requiring that
this ordinance be passed as and take effect as an emergency measure, such rules
and provisions are accordingly suspended and this ordinance is passed as and
shall take effect as an emergency measure and shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
