HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-0418 - Ordinance - 11/30/1964BOORUM 8: PEASE ORDINANCE NO. 418 AN ORDINANCE CREATING A JOINT AIRPORT ZONING BOARD TO BE KNOWN AS THE EASTERWOOD JOINT AIRPORT ZONING BOARD AND INVESTING SUCH JOINT BOARD WITH THE POWERS SUCH BOARDS ARE .AUTHORIZED TO EXERCISE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 3.91, ACTS OF THE FIFTIETH LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION, 1947, AS AMENDED (ARTICLES 46e-1 to 46e-15, AS AMENDED VERNON'S TEXAS. CIVIL STATUTES), AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED by the.,City Council of the City of -College Station, Texas: I.. Subject to like provision being made by the City of Bryan, Texas, by proper ordinance, and by the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, by proper order duly promulgated and entered on its minutes, and as' authorized by the provisions of Chapter 391, Acts of the Fiftieth Legislature, Regular Session, 1947, as amended (Articles 46e-1 to 46e-15, as amended, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), there is hereby created a joint airport zoning board, to be known asthe Easterwood Joint Airport Zoning Board, which, shall have the powers and exercise the duties set forth in Sections 2 and 3 of Chapter 391, Acts of the Fiftieth Legislature, Regular Session, 1947, as amended (Articles 46e-1 to 46e-15,:as amended, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes). II. The Easterwood Joint Airport Zoning Board shall be composed of seven (7) members, two (2) to be appointed by the City Council of College Station, Texas, two (2) members to be appointed by the City Council (Commission) of the City of Bryan, Texas, and two (2) members to be appointed by the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, the seventh member shall be elected by a majority of the members so appointed and said seventh member shall serve as Chairman of the said Easterwood Joint Airport Zoning Board. North B. Bardell, Jr. and H. P. Murray are hereby. appointed as the'City's members on said Easterwood Joint Airport Zoning Board. IV. The fact that traffic hazards presently exist and other may be created which will impede the passage of aircraft to and from Easterwood Airport in the City of College Station endangers the safety: and health of the population of College. Station, and creates 01003 an emergency and urgent public necessity and because of the foregoing it is Ordered that this ordinance be passed and take effect as an emergency measure and that same shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
