ORDER OF ELECTION
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS ORDERING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION ON TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 1961, FOR THE
ELECTION OF THREE COUNCILMEN; FIXING THE TIME, PLACE AND MANNER OF HOLDING THE
ELECTION AND APPOINTING JUDGES AND CLERKS THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas:
A general election shall be and the same is hereby ordered to be held on
the first Tuesday in April, 1961, the same being April 4, for the purpose of
electing three councilmen, namely, one from each Ward, of the City of College
Station, Texas
The election will be held at the following places, and the election offic-
ials shall be, for the purpose of this election, as follows:
In Ward No. 1 at the following polling place, to -wit: A & M Consolidated
School Music Room. Presiding Judge, Mr, Luther Jones; Clerks, Mrs. F. R. Brison,
Mrs. J. B. Hervey.
In Ward No. 2 at the following polling place, to -wit: Culpepper Building,
Walton Drive. Presiding Judge, Dr. F. L. Thomas; Clerks, Mrs. Charles Richardson,
Mrs. John Denison.
In Ward No. 3 at the following polling place, to -wit: City of College
Station, City Hall. Presiding Judge, Col. Frank H. Mathews: Clerks, Mrs. W.
D. LLoyd, Mrs. Edd Whitten. The polls shall be opened promptly at 8 o'clock
a.m. and shall be closed promptly at 7 o'clock p.m.
The election will be held under the provisions of the laws of the State
of Texas governing general elections, and only duly qualified voters who are
residents of the City of College Station shall be allowed to vote.
Copies of this ordinance, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Secretary shall, when posted at three public places in the City of College
Station, serve as proper notice of said election.
Passed and approved this the 27th day of February, 1961.
