AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, ORDERING A SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION ON DECEMBER 7, 1968,
FOR THE ELECTION OF A COUNCILMAN, PLACE 6, TO FILL A VACANCY CREATED
BY THE DEATH OF THEO R. HOLLEMAN FOR THE PERIOD ENDING WITH THE MUNICIPAL
ELECTION OF APRIL 7, 1970; FIXING THE TIME, PLACE AND MANNER OF HOLDING THE
ELECTION AND APPOINTING JUDGES AND CLERKS THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas:
A special election shall be and the same is hereby ordered to be held on
December 7, 1968, for the purpose of electing a Councilman, Place 6, to fill a vacancy
created by the death of Theo R. Holleman for the period ending with the municipal election
of April 7, 1970.
The election will be held at the following places, and the election officials shall
be, for the purpose of this election as follows:
Polling Place No. 1, at A&M Consolidated School Music Room, in said City, with
L. G. Jones as Presiding Judge, Mrs. J. N. Holmgreen, Alternate Judge, and said
Presiding Judge shall appoint the necessary clerks to assist him.
Polling Place No. 2, at College Hills Elementary School, in said City, with
Mrs. George Draper as Presiding Judge, Mrs. E. D. Parnell, as Alternate Judge, and
said Presiding Judge shall appoint the necessary clerks to assist him.
Polling Place No. 3, at the City Hall of College Station, in said City, with
Mrs. W. D. Lloyd as Presiding Judge, Mr. W. H. Freiberger, as Alternate Judge,
and said Presiding Judge shall appoint the necessary clerks to assist him.
The polls shall be opened promptly at 8 o'clock a.m. and shall be closed
promptly at 7 o'clock p.m.
The election will be held under the provisions of the laws of the State of Texas
governing general elections, and only duly qualified voters who are residents of the
City of College Station shall be allowed to vote.
Copies of this ordinance, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Secretary
shall, when posted at three public places in the City of College Station, serve as proper
notice of said election.
