AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO 'TEMPORARY SPEED ZONES WHICH SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATES
AREAS IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION IN WHICH RA'ZES OF SPEED OF THIRTY (30)
MIT,FS PER HOUR OR MORE ARE AUTHORIZED; 'TEMPORARILY REVISING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING THAT ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE
ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION:
SECTION I. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating to
speed zones on State Highways in the City of College Station are hereby
temporarily revised and the following are specifically designated areas in
which a rate of speed of thirty (30) miles per hour or more is authorized.
Upon completion of State Highway Department Project C 49-12-2 and acceptance
by the State, the speed zone shall revert to those as ordained by City
Ordinance.
(a) State Highway 30, for traffic moving in both directions, from
0.3511 mile west of the east City Limit, for 0.400 mile west the speed limit
shall be forty-five (45) miles per hour in construction areas when said speed
is so indicated. For the remainder of State Highway 30 within the City Limits,
the speed limit shall be as indicated.
SECTION II. WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the public
necessitated immediate action, this Ordinance shall be,effective from the
date of its passage until completion of Texas Highway Department Project
C 49-12-2, State Highway 6, Brazos County.
