HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-0559 - Ordinance - 02/26/1968ORDINANCE NO. 559 AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE ONE (1) ACRE OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE MORGAN RECTOR SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 46, IN BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS PRESENTLY ZONED AS DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE DISTRICT, TO DISTRICT NO. 4, FIRST BUSINESS DISTRICT. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 p. m. February 26, 1968, on the question of rezoning areas within the city limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has heard all parties pertaining thereto and having the recommendation of the City Planning and Zoning Commission has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of the following described area from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District, to District No. 4, First Business District: All that certain one (1) acre of land lying and being situated in the Morgan Rector Survey, Abstract No. 46, in Brazos County, Texas, and more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the most westerly corner of a 202 1/2 -acre tract of land in the Morgan Rector Survey, conveyed by Addie Soles et al to Lee Richard on October 26, 1907, by deed recorded in Volume 33, Page 17, of the Brazos County Deed Records; Thence run South 45 East with the southwesterly line of said 202 1/2 -acre tract 75 varas and corner on said line; Thence North 45 East 75 varas and corner; Thence North 45 West 75 varas and corner in the northwest line of said 202 1/2 -acre tract; Thence South 45 West 75 varas to theplace of beginning containing one (1) acre tract of land, more or less, and said land being also fully described in deed dated February 6, 1913, from Lee Richard and wife to the Trustees of School District No. 6, Brazos County, Texas, recorded in Volume 42, Page 274, of the Brazos County Deed Records, to which reference is hereby made for all purposes, and is so ordained that said change be effective immediately.
