HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-0551 - Ordinance - 12/15/1967ORDINANCE NO. 551 AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: Section 1. On the 22nd day of January, 1968 at 7:00 p. m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of College Station, Texas the City Council will hold a public hearing giving all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on the pro- posed annexation by the City of College Station, Texas of the following described property, to wit: Beginning at a common corner of the F. B. Clark tract, the D. McCrory tract and the Area Progress Corporation tract, said corner is more fully described as being the most Southeasterly corner of the present city limits in this area. Thence N 45° 06' 09" W a distance of 1565.9 feet to a corner, Thence N 44° 53' 53" E a distance of 113. 64 feet to a corner, Thence N 45° 00' 00" W a distance of 129.85 feet to a corner, Thence N 45° 00' 00" E a distance of 130.00 feet to a corner, Thence S 45° 00' 00" E a distance of 105.60 feet to a corner, Thence N 45° 00' 00" E a distance of 506. 50 feet to a corner, Thence S 45° 00' 00" E a distance of 31.10 feet to a corner, Thence N 45° 13' 00" E a distance of 42.66 feet to a corner, Thence S 72° 08' 00" E a distance of 427. 75 feet to a corner, Thence S 51° 50' 00" E a distance of 150. 00 feet to a corner, Thence S 45° 06' 09" E a distance of 1027. 69 feet to a corner, Thence S 44° 53' 51" W a distance of 1004. 78 feet to the place of beginning. 01401 Ordinance No. 551 Page 2 Section 2. The Mayor of the City of College Station is hereby authorized and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a newspaper having general circulation in the city and in the above described territory not more than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act ( Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled as 970a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes ). Section 3. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at three several meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and the ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.
