FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Planner on Call system helps over 2,000 people a year that call, email, or
come into the P&DS office with questions related to planning and development.
This section highlights some of the more common questions. If you have questions
for the Planner on Call, please contact us at (979) 764-3858 or
POC@cstx.gov.
Q: I have an idea for a potential development within the City, but I’m not sure
what all needs to be done to the property. What do I do?
A: The City offers a service called a Pre-Application Conference (PAC) which
allows any member of the public to propose their idea to Planning, Engi-
neering, Fire, and any other necessary department for feedback regarding
the development process and any potential requirements for the proposed
site. PACs are held every Wednesday at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 in the 2nd
floor conference room of City Hall. To request a PAC, you will need to con-
tact the Planner-on-Call and provide any preliminary documents and/or in-
formation about the proposal needed for staff to research your questions
and schedule the next available PAC appointment.
For additional information regarding Pre-Application Conferences, please
contact the Planner-on-Call.
