09-13-90-5.12 - Resolution - 09/13/1990 RESOLUTION 9-13-90-5.12 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PRO~RAM GRANT APPLICATION AND GRANT AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the City of College Station recognizes that it is in the interest of the national economy to promote the conservation of energy resources and to reduce our nation's dependence on costly foreign oil; and, WHEREAS, the traffic management project proposed by the City of College Station will provide benefits to the local community in the form of improved traffic flow, reduced fuel consumption, reduced vehicle operating costs, reduced air pollutant emissions, and improved safety due to smoother traffic flow; and, WHEREAS, funds have been established and are available through the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for grants to local governments for traffic management projects; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of College Station authorizes the submission of an application to the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for a Traffic Management grant and, if the application is selected for funding, the Mayor of the City of College Station is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of College Station all necessary applications, contracts, and agreements to implement and carry out the purposes specified in this resolution. Date ATTEST: 007985 RESOLUTION NO. 9-13-90-13 A RESOLUTION PRESCRIBING AN ASSESSMENT FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of College Station that: There shall be monthly charges assessed and collected from each person, firm, or corporation within the city limits the following monthly assessment charges for garbage disposal: $ 6.30 Each residential dwelling unit (single or multi-family not utilizing semi- automated or automated commercial-type refuse containers). $ 4.20 Each residential dwelling unit utilizing semi-automated or automated commercial type refuse containers. $ 30.90 Places of business that can best be serviced by six time per week handcrew collection, utilizing plastic bags, without causing a health, sanitation or litter problem. $ 86.95 - 3 cubic yard container $140.95 - 6 cubic Yard Container Places Of Business That Can Best Be Serviced By The Utilization Of A Semi- automated Or Automated Commercial-type Refuse Container. $ 60.40 per load plus $18.00 per ton landfill charge - Ail roll-off container service The solid waste superintendent, or his representative, shall be notified of any new service locations or changes in service levels and will designate the appropriate service level and/or the size(s) of container(s) to be utilized. The superintendent can require changes in service levels at any location when the current service is inadequate and is causing a health, sanitation or litter problem. 007986 Payments must be received at the city utility office on or before the due date to avoid late charges. Payment received after the due date will be assessed a penalty equaling ten percent (10%) of the current months charges with a minimum charge of three dollars ($3.00). These rates shall be effective on all invoices submitted by the City of College Station to users on or after October 1, 1990. PASSED and APPROVED this 13th day of September990.
