A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A COMMER-
CIAL USERS SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT
OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO ALLOW "DIAL
UP" ACCESS TO THEIR AUTOMATED MOTOR VEHICLE TITLE/
REGISTRATION RECORDS.
WHEREAS, the City of College Station Police Department
will no longer be able to run vehicle registration in-
formation for the Municipal Court; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation has instituted "dial up" access to their
automated motor vehicle title/registration records that
would allow Municipal Court to obtain vehicle registra-
tion information for the filing and prosecution of
parking violations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of College Station that the Mayor is hereby
authorized to execute a Commercial Users Service
Agreement with the State Department of Highways and
Public Transportation to allow Municipal Court "dial
up" access to the State's automated motor vehicle
title/registration records.
