03-08-90-5 - Resolution - 03/08/1990Resolution No. ~-R-g0-5 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE CREATION OF A NEW POLICE OFFICER POSITION, WHICH POSITION WILL BE ASSIGNED EXCLUSIVELY TO THE BRAZOS VALLEY NARCOTICS TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE WHEREAS, in order to receive federal matching grant funds local governments, including the City of College Station, until recently were responsible for providing matching funds in the amount of twenty-five percent (25%) of the money utilized to purchase drugs, impressed funds; WHEREAS, the city of College Station has become aware that local governments may now receive matching funds for up to twenty-five percent (25%) of local task force budgets by the addition of personnel dedicated solely to narcotics law enforcement; WHEREAS, the City of College Station may by the addition of a new police officer position assist the Brazos Valley Narcotics Trafficking Task Force in meeting the twenty-five percent (25%) funding match requirement; WHEREAS, the City of College Station can create the position commencing October 1, 1990 with the 1990 - 1991 fiscal year; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas hereby approves and creates a new police officer position beginning October 1, 1990 with the 1990 - 1991 fiscal year and that position will be assigned exclusively to the Brazos Valley Narcotics Trafficking Task Force SIGNED THIS THE 8th DAY OF March , 1990. 007754
