02-14-91-3 - Resolution - 02/14/1991RESOLUTION NO. 2-14-91-3 WHEREAS, the Brazos Valley Solid Waste Management Agency (BVSWMA) has considered the establishment of a voluntary curbside waste oil collection program administered by the Department of Public Services and to be made available to all single family residences within the City of College Station; and WHEREAS, BVSWMA has consented to the sponsoring of a grant application (requested amount: $50,000) to the State of Texas Department of Health to acquire matching funds to establish such a program under the name of Project ROSE (Recycling Oil Saves Energy); and WHEREAS, certain substantial benefits could be achieved by discouraging the improper disposal of this product; and WHEREAS, this project aligns itself with current (and future) Federal and State guidelines on the reduction of hazardous materials, control of non-point water pollution, and the recycling of non-renewable resources; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of College Station agrees to co-sponsor this grant proposal and project, and provide additional support through the use of existing resources (i.e. in-kind services) to promote the voluntary participation of all eligible residents.
