Thc United States Legislature has appropriated $15 millign nationwide to
the U.S. Small Business Administration to initiate tree planting programs
through the services of small business owners; and
The Governor of Texas has appointed the Texas Forest Service as
administrator of the Small Business Administration National Tree
Planting Grants for the State of Texas; and
The City of College Station is fully eligible to apply for matching grant
funds by supplying service in kind or money for tree purchases, and tree
planting through out the community is designated as Council Issue
Number 11 for fiscal year 90-91; and
The City Council of the City of College Station is desirous of authorizing
its administrative staff to represent an8 act for the city in dealing with the
Texas Forest Service concerning this program, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of College Sta_tion hereby authorizes
~e~'ts the Parks Department Director to represent and act tor the City of College
Station in dealing with the Texas Forest Service For the purposes of this program.
Section 2: Effective date: This resolution shall become effective from and after its
passing by the City Council of the City of College Station.
