A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE BRYAN AND COLLEGE STATION CITY
COUNCILS SUPPORTING AND APPROVING OF THE APPLICATION FOR
BRYAN AND COLLEGE STATION TO SERVE AS THE HOST CITIES FOR
THE 1994 TEXAS AMATEUR ATHLETIC FEDEI~TION GAMES; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
the Bryan-College Station community has
established a statewide reputation for high
quality athletic programs and faoilities~ and
the citizens of the Brazos Valley strongly support
the community's commitment to amateur athletic
excellence~ and
the cities of Bryan and College Station recognize
the positive economic impact that State athletic
championships bring to the community~ and
the cities of Bryan and College Station along with
the Bryan/College Station Athletic Federation, the
Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce, Texas
A&M University and the citizens of the Brazos
Valley successfully participated in and conducted
the 1988 Pepsi Games of Texas~ NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCILS OF BRYAN AND COLLEGE
STATION, TEX~S THAT:
SECTION 1.
The cities of Bryan and College Station fully support
and endorse the local steering committee,s bid and
application for the hosting of the 1994 Games of Texas.
SECTION 2.
The Executive Administration is authorized to prepare
and submit budget changes for funding of the project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of February, 1992 by
affirmative vote of the College Station City Council Meeting
in regular session.
