NO. 8-24-95-R-10
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO NOTIFY L. A. FORD,
OWNER OF A 5.98 ACRE TRACT, THAT COLLEGE STATION DOES
NOT INTEND TO RENEW THE LEASE OF THE 27,374 SQUARE FEET
FOR THE AMTRAK STATION IN THE 1995-1996 FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS, the City of College Station leased from L. A. Ford a 27,373
sq. ft. portion of the 5.98 acre tract in the J. E. Scott Survey for use as a
train station and park; and
WHEREAS, AmTrak has notified the City that service will be discontinued
as of September 10, 1995;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
College Station that the Mayor shall be authorized to send notice to the
owner of the property leased by College Station as an AmTrak station that
the City intends to cancel the lease as of November 1, 1995.
