09-12-96-01 - Resolution - 09/12/1996q so[ution RESOLUTION NO. 9-12-96-01 WHEREAS, it came to be considered the returns of a city council runoff election held on the 7th day of September 1996, for the purpose of electing one councilmember to the College Station City Council; WHEREAS, it appears from said returns, duly and legally made that a total of 769 valid ballots were cast at said election. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS; That each of the candidates for City Council Place 3 received the following number of votes in said election; FOR CITY COUNCIL, PLACE 3 PAUL WILLIAMS City Voting Precinct No. 34 (consisting of city precincts no. 2, 8, 9, 10, 20, 21, 24, 27, 28, 29B, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 39, 40, 58, 59, 61,62, 64, 71, 73, 75, 83 and Early) Total 322 BRAD MARTIN City Voting Precinct No. 34 (consisting of city precincts no. 2, 8, 9, 10, 20, 21, 24, 27, 28, 29B, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 39, 40, 58, 59, 61, 62, 64, 71, 73, 75, 83, and Early) Total 442 Resolution No. 9-12-96-01 Page 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS; That said election was duly called, that notice of said election was given in accordance with the law, that said election was held in accordance with the law; and that Mayor Lynn Mcllhaney, is hereby authorized to sign the statement of Canvass of Runoff Election, which shall be attached to and become a part of this Resolution; and a copy of which shall be retained by the custodian of the election records; and, that Brad Martin was duly elected to City Council Place 3. Said above named party is hereby declared duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the taking of the oath of office as provided by the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of College Station.
